Please follow this link to find out how to contact a GP outside our opening hours.

Messages in our e-mailbox Contact.Fernville@nhs.net are read by a member of our Administration Team each working day.

Where this is appropriate, we are very happy to receive e-mail messages from patients. But we do need to make sure the service we provide is clinically safe and confidential. So there are some things we cannot do by e-mail.

We are required to follow strict rules to safeguard patient confidentiality. We cannot send personal medical information (such as test results) by e-mail. Also, for operational reasons, we cannot guarantee that your message will be read earlier than the next working day.

You are welcome to use e-mail to:

  • Make a general enquiry about the Practice or the services we provide

  • Cancel an appointment (so long as you give us at least 24 hours notice)

  • Pass a message to one of our doctors or nurses (so long as this does not require a response)

  • Provide feedback about our services or your experience at Fernville

  • Make a formal complaint

  • Request an updated sick certificate if this has been agreed with the doctor
(please give the reason plus start and finish dates)

  • Request a sick certificate following a hospital admission
(please give the reason plus start and finish dates)

We regret you should not use e-mail to:

  • Make an appointment (but you can do this on-line using Patient Access or using our automated telephone system at any time - day or night)

  • Request a repeat prescription (but you can do this on-line using Patient Access )

  • Ask for medical advice (you should make an appointment for this)

  • Request a sick certificate (unless this has been agreed with the doctor or is required following a hospital admission).
