Urgent appointments

Non-urgent advice: Please Note

If you require an urgent same day appointment, you should complete the online Medical Request form. The practice will review all requests based on clinical need.

Emergency appointments are scheduled at five-minute intervals and will deal with just one urgent medical problem per patient.

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

Complete the urgent appointment request form.

If you need help to complete the form, or do not have access to a mobile or computer please phone us on 01442 213 919, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm

Please note that we do not offer a ‘walk in’ facility.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

The information you provides will help us find the right health professional to help you, at the right time.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • By phone
  • Face to face at the surgery
  • On a video call
  • By text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Pharmacy First

Pharmacists can give you advice on a range of conditions and suggest medicines that can help.

They may also be able to offer treatment and some prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP (this is called Pharmacy First). Conditions they can treat as part of Pharmacy First are:

  • earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
  • impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
  • infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • shingles (aged 18 years and over)
  • sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
  • sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
  • urinary tract infections or UTIs (women aged 16 to 64 years)

If you go to a pharmacy with one of these conditions, the pharmacist will offer you advice, treatment or refer you to a GP or other healthcare professional if needed.

They will then update your GP health record.

If you are not within these age ranges, a pharmacist can still offer advice, but you may need to see a GP for treatment.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.

Please consider the need for a home visit, as in most cases care is provided more quickly and effectively in the surgery where a more complete assessment is possible.
