Covid Restrictions Update- Updated 16th July 2021

Throughout the pandemic, patient and staff safety has remained our highest priority.

From Monday 19th July legal requirements on mask wearing will be lifted. However, Public Health England infection prevention control (IPC) guidance is to remain in place, meaning the current situation on mask-wearing, hand hygiene and social distancing in health and care settings will continue.

We appreciate these restrictions may be frustrating for some, but we must protect the health of our most sick and high-risk patients who attend the surgery.

To reduce the chances of infection when there are rising rates in the community, our staff will continue to wear PPE and we ask all patients to only attend the surgery when asked to do so. This is to limit large numbers of patients in our waiting areas and on the premises.

The guidance remains under constant review, based on available and emerging evidence.

Therefore from Monday 19th July patients visiting the surgery should:

  • Continue to wear a face covering
  • Continue practicing social distancing
  • Continue to use hand sanitiser on arrival
  • Only attend the surgery when asked to do so

Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation with this – it makes a huge difference.
