Over two and a half million prescriptions are dispensed in GP practices every day, and the NHS has existing ways of making sure that patients get their medications even under difficult circumstances. Therefore, GPs are advised to continue prescribing medicines to patients as normal and will not be prescribing extra medicine or authorising early repeat prescription requests.
