About Us
Fernville is a modern, expanding practice with an excellent reputation, located conveniently in Midland Road, close to Hemel Hempstead town centre. We are the oldest Practice in Hemel Hempstead, established in the last century in a house close to the present site. We moved to our current premises in 1986, initially occupying the ground floor and later expanding to use the whole building. The premises have continually been improved to meet the demands of modern Primary Care. Fernville has been a training Practice for the last 15 years.
Fernville serves approximately 17,000 patients, from all social classes and of all ages (although we have a higher than average number of elderly and very elderly patients). Many of our patients live in the two electoral wards with the highest morbidity ratios in the town for chronic diseases. Fernville is a busy Practice, and we take pride in our ability to provide appointments for urgent medical conditions same-day or (at worst) next-day.
Our doctors, nurses and administrative staff work as an integrated team to serve our patients. We constantly strive to find new and better ways of delivering this service. Fernville is committed to providing a high standard of care, efficiently.
Fernville supports the broader healthcare community wherever possible. We provide medical services to 2 private schools and a number of Residential Homes. One of our doctors has a post as the locality Safeguarding Lead and our Managing Partner sits on the board of our local GP Federation.
